Faoin Straitéis 20 Bliain don Ghaeilge 2010-2030 agus Acht na Gaeltachta 2012 ní mór do gach ceantar Gaeltachta plean teanga a chur le chéile chun tacú le húsáid, forbairt agus cur chun cinn na Gaeilge mar theanga phobail. Mura gcuirtear plean teanga le chéile caillfear an stádas Gaeltachta!
Bhí Comharchumann Forbartha Mhúscraí Teoranta ceaptha mar an Cheanneagraíocht freagrach as plean teanga a ullmhú do Limistéar Pleanála Teanga (LPT) Mhúscraí.
Cuireadh Meitheal Pleanála Teanga Mhúscraí le chéile faoi scáth an Chomharchumainn, mar mheitheal oibre ionadaíoch ar phobal Mhúscraí. Tá sé mar aidhm ag an Meitheal Oibre an phleanáil teanga i gceantar Mhúscraí a riaradh agus a bhrú chun cinn go háitiúil.
Is plean seacht mbliana atá i gceist a bhfuil d’aidhm aige cur leis an líon cainteoirí laethúla Gaeilge san Limistéar Pleanála Teanga (LPT). Is ar an Oifigeach Pleanála Teanga a bheidh an phríomhfhreagracht an plean a chur i bhfeidhm.
Under the 20 Year Strategy for the Irish Language 2010-2030 and the Gaeltacht Act 2012 each Gaeltacht area must write a language plan to support the use, development and promotion of the Irish language as a community language. Areas without a language plan will lose their Gaeltacht status!
Comharchumann Forbartha Mhúscraí Teoranta was appointed as the Lead Organisation responsible for preparing an Irish language plan for the Múscraí Language Planning Area (LPA).
Meitheal Pleanála Teanga Mhúscraí was founded as a sub-committee of the Comharchumann, as a working group representative of the Múscraí community. The Working Group aims to focus on administering and advancing the language planning process locally.
A seven-year plan has now been prepared with the fundamental aim of increasing the number of people speaking Irish on a daily basis in the Language Planning Area. It is the primary role of the Language Planning Officer to implement the plan.
