Seó Baile Mhúirne & Cúil Aodha 2026

Bhí an lá againn ag Seó Baile Mhúirne & Cúil Aodha 2026. Ár mbuíochas ó chroí leis an gCoiste. Sár obair agus a lán obair déanta ag an gcoiste chun ullmhú don seó arís is arís. Tá sé éasca dearmad a dhéanamh ar an maitheas atá sa phobal seo. Ach tá spiorad ar leith anseo. Glac pháirt agus tabhair tacaíocht in pé slí gur féidir leat!
Such a great day and heartfelt thanks to the organising committee for their excellent work in pulling it all together.
It is easy to take the goodness of this committee, and the great community spirit for granted. Get involved, support, in whatever way you can.

Coirceog / Skep

Deirtear gurbh sa 5ú haois AD a rinneadh an chéad tagairt do choirceoga in Éirinn, nuair a d’úsáid Naomh Gobnait - a bhí ina beachaire - iad chun gadaithe eallaigh a dhíbirt trí choirceoga beach a chaitheamh leo.

It is said that the first reference to skep beehives in Ireland dates to the 5th century AD, when the patron saint of Baile Mhúirne, Saint Gobnait - who was a beekeeper - used them to drive away cattle thieves by throwing beehives at them.
